At Schenectady County Community College, we are participating in a campaign to include and accept persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities by pledging to never again use the "R-word."
Susanna Fenlon, our Coordinator of ADA Transition Services, is leading the way. I'm so proud to work at an organization which fully embraces acceptance of every person.
Information and a video link are below. I'm in. Will you join us?
Help us Spread the Word to End the Word™. This campaign, created by youth, is intended to engage schools, organizations and communities to rally and pledge their support to promote the inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We invite you to be a fan of respect! Join us next Wednesday and pledge to stop the use of the R-word.
Language affects attitudes. Attitudes impact actions. Make your pledge to choose respectful people first language!
